Poll Everywhere
It can be helpful to give students feedback about their progress during a class activity. Poll Everywhere gives you the ability to solicit instant, anonymous responses from students. You can use their responses to "take the temperature of the room". You get to see where you're students are, and they get to see where they are compared to their classmates. Google Forms and Google Sheets with add ons like Flubaroo.
Google forms is a great way to collect homework and other information from students. All student responses go into a spreadsheet, and if you've got some with excel skills, there is no limit to what you can do with those responses. With some planning and forethought, you can create homework or quizzes that can be automatically graded. That way, you can spend your precious time analyzing student performance instead of grading and never getting around to the essential data analysis. If you're not confident about your excel skills, there are Google Sheets add-ons like flubaroo that will do the coding for you. All you need to do is set up you're questions in the correct format and flubaroo will do the rest! |
